Hi there, and welcome! I know it can be challenging to reach out for help at times, or to trust someone you don't know very well with the intricacies of your home and family. Let me take a few moments to tell you a little about myself to help make that first step easier.

I am a creative person at heart, which allows me to think outside the box and look for creative solutions to issues. I believe that sometimes the simplest solutions are the best and the easiest to follow through on.

In my years working with children and youth, I’ve come to understand that each behaviour is both communicating something and meeting some need. The strongest and most difficult behaviours often communicate the most difficult messages and meet the strongest needs. By identifying both of these, we can manage the behaviours in a way that sets your child and your family up for success.

In both my personal and professional life, I value honesty, compassion and balance. I believe that communication is important and can always be worked on. I also strongly believe that most people do not give themselves enough credit for the effort they put in and accomplishments they achieve in their daily lives. We are all doing the best we can with what we have and know.

Because I understand that we are all doing the best we can with what we have, I offer my services without judgment. It can be difficult enough accessing services without worrying about someone coming into your home and speaking down to you. Respect and dignity are a vital aspect of a healthy professional relationship, and I work from a strength-based approach. By this I mean that together we identify the strengths in the family, and give family members an opportunity to use these strengths throughout our work. This has a positive effect on everyone involved and makes working towards goals, and making changes more successful in the long run.

One of the most important aspects of any relationship I have with clients is empowerment. Nobody knows you better than you know yourself. No one knows what your family is dealing with better than your family. In our relationship I bring my knowledge of child/youth work and therapeutic tools, and you bring your knowledge of how you and your family are doing, and what your needs are. Together we create a plan to support your family. We are a team, and you bring important information to the table. You decide what you need and want for your family, and I do what I can to support you. We’re in this together.

Please contact me for more information or to book a free meet and greet appointment. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
